MARIJUANA – ROOT CAUSE AS WELL AS TREATMENT FOR MENTAL DISORDERS

Marijuana also known as cannabis is a drug which is obtained from the cannabis plant. It is often used for mental and physical use and sometimes it is used for the purpose of religious and spiritual purpose. Skunk, a type of cannabis is made from unpollinated cannabis contains a large levels of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). Since its occurrence in unpollinated cannabis is natural its effect is also quite higher. Here the main concern is that high use of skunk may risk to psychosis and bipolar disorder. People who use high range of cannabis particularly in their young or teen age are more severely affected by schizophrenia or bipolar disorder.
Since most of the countries banned the use of cannabis there are still few countries which use it for medical practice. UK has proper licence to use sativex, a cannabis based drug which is used for the treatment of Multiple Sclerosis. Researchers found that compounds in marijuana are similar to some compounds in brain which are used as effective chronic pain relievers. A journal of clinical psychology suggests that use of marijuana helps people to come over alcohol and opioid addictions. On the other hand using marijuana for treatments is more likely to increase the risk of addiction to it.
Though marijuana is used to relieve depressions and post-traumatic stress disorders it is unable to give proper treatments for mental conditions like Psychosis and Bipolar Disorder. Marijuana not only decreases the symptoms of social anxiety but also increases when it is overdosed. Over last 50 years cannabis growers alternates the proportions of THC which gives the most toxic versions of cannabis. Simply marijuana gives us difficulty when we need to stop it.
